From October 23 to November 16, 2014. The exhibition “Virgin land was the epoch” works at the State art Museum of Altai region.

The Soviet Union learned of virgin territory in 1954-1960-ies. This event was an epoch, and primarily for Altai. The region became a major agricultural center; there have been major changes in the area of economic, social and cultural life.

Pictures of classics Altai art F. Borunov, M. Budkeev, A.Vagin, M. Koveshnikova, V. Zoteev and well-known artists from Central Russia I. Gorokhov, V. Zakharkin, A. Lysenko, P. Smolin, I. Sokolova-Galickaya and others reveal the heroism, romance, life, and national and regional character of major historical event.

Most of the works were written in the 1950-ies. Viewers will be able to feel the atmosphere and the spirit of the time.
